Christopher Murray, Counselling

I work from a humanistic and integrative perspective and have an interest in a range of other ways of seeing the person that include influences from the past, our hopes for the future and the here and now of your life. Whilst my approach acknowledges the validity of a range of approaches my concern is to help you understand yourself within the context of you life as it is now. The role of psychotherapy is to facilitate the client's work in a way that is meaningful to them and in the context of their lives.

The relationship between client and therapist is a key aspect of therapy. In my work I aim to respect your values, personal resources and capacity for self determination. My intention is to offer you a safe and confidential space where you have the opportunity to talk about the things that matter to you. That will enable us to decide to continue or not. The sessions last 50 minutes and would normally be weekly, and this will be agreed in the form of a contract.
