Peter Adamson (UKCP Psychotherapist)

I grew up in the North West of England between Manchester and Liverpool and went to school and college in Wigan and Warrington. I have always been fascinated by people and even then I knew I wanted to do something that would help people.

My working life has included teaching maths in Warrington, Leigh and Liverpool, working in an IT role and as an IT customer support officer. About 20 years ago I went by chance to a talk on hypnotherapy and I was hooked. I started my training as a hypnotherapist and psychotherapist and have been expanding my knowledge ever since. I have listed a lot of the courses I have done below.

I also like to think that, since I have had first-hand experience of many of life's problems and painful situations, I have greater understanding of what my clients are going through. I was bullied at school, had an extreme phobia of wasps, have suffered with IBS, been addicted to cigarettes, been divorced and bereaved, had car accidents and suffered panic attacks.
