About the Business
I have been an independent counsellor and psychotherapist since 1989, maintaining a private practice in central York. I am part of a network of highly qualified therapists who mutually refer. I offer individual counselling and psychotherapy, group psychotherapy and supervision. I am an American with a background in Humanities, Social Sciences and the Arts. I have lived in the UK for many years and am able to offer therapy to people who experience problems with social or cultural adjustment, identity, exclusion, the longing to belong, diversity and difference.
I offer a lively face-to-face, therapeutic relationship which respects your individual differences, your unique history and your particular aims and goals. I began training in Transactional Analysis in 1986 at the Northern Guild for Psychotherapy, first as a Counsellor, then as a a Supervisor and Integrative Psychotherapist.
