About the Business
Dr Kirsten Kitson is a Counselling Psychologist who is chartered by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and holds full membership to the BPS division of Counselling Psychology. She is registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC), a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and holds a doctorate in Counselling Psychology. She also has honour degrees in both Psychology and Criminology & Fine art.
Kirsten draws on a range of therapeutic approaches including: Person-Centred, Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy; working from a relational stance. Kirsten has worked with adults and adolescents in a variety of settings including the NHS, HM Prison service and in the voluntary sector. This has involved the short, medium and long-term treatment of problems of varying severity. Kirsten has specialised in substance misuse and eating disorders but also works with a wide range of presenting problems.
