
Group Analysis North is a charitable organisation made up of individuals in the North of England, who are interested in the ideas and practice of Group Analysis and Group Psychotherapy. We all live,work and play in groups. The essence of being human is social. If you are managing a team or group of people, or are running or participating in groups, an understanding of how groups work and function can be invaluable.

She is experienced in treating anxiety, anger, depression and low self-esteem in adults and children using tried and tested treatment protocols with flexibility to suit the needs of the client. She iscurrently carrying out CBT in a primary school and has her own private practice where she carries out CBT with adults, children and adolescents also involving parents and working more systemically if necessary. She is currently working on a book/treatment protocol.

I provide a range of services including: - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), supervision, training and workshops. I am a BABCP AccreditedCognitive-Behavioural Psychotherapist, EMDR Europe Approved Practitioner, Hypno Psychotherapist, supervisor and lecturer. I offer therapy to individuals in the Salford, Worsley, Manchester and Bolton area.

I grew up in the North West of England between Manchester and Liverpool and went to school and college in Wigan and Warrington. I have always been fascinated by people and even then I knew I wanted todo something that would help people. My working life has included teaching maths in Warrington, Leigh and Liverpool, working in an IT role and as an IT customer support officer. About 20 years ago I went by chance to a talk on hypnotherapy and I was hooked.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is a form of talking therapy that combines cognitive therapy and behaviour therapy. It focuses on how you think about the things going on in your life - yourthoughts, images, beliefs and attitudes (your cognitive processes) - and how this impacts on the way you behave and deal with emotional problems. It then looks at how you can change any negative patterns of thinking or behaviour that may be causing you difficulties. In turn, this can change the way you feel.

I graduated in Psychology at the University of Wales, Bangor in 1978. In 1983 I qualified as a clinical psychologist after an MSc course in Clinical Psychology at the University of Birmingham. Myfirst post as a clinical psychologist was for Liverpool Health Authority where I worked in the field of Adult Mental Health.
