We are business psychologists - blending scientific rigour with insight and empathy. For over 15 years we have used psychology to improve organisational and individual effectiveness. For us there isnothing 'soft' about our skills; we work hard to prove that commercially-applied psychology makes a tangible difference.
We offer a confidential and professional service in the context of a great range of experience working with both common and complex psychological problems; including anxiety, depression, stress, OCD,panic, relationship/work difficulties, insomia, bereavement. When you are ready to contact us to discuss the next step on your journey, we will be pleased to talk through how we may be able to support you towards emotional well-being.
As psychotherapists we see clients on a one to one basis to enable them to cope with problems associated with depression, low mood, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, stress, lack of motivation, adjustment to lifechanges and bereavement and loss. We offer CBT and counselling to those who seek to change their lives in order for them to live a happier more productive life.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is a form of talking therapy that combines cognitive therapy and behaviour therapy. It focuses on how you think about the things going on in your life - yourthoughts, images, beliefs and attitudes (your cognitive processes) - and how this impacts on the way you behave and deal with emotional problems. It then looks at how you can change any negative patterns of thinking or behaviour that may be causing you difficulties. In turn, this can change the way you feel.
I grew up in the North West of England between Manchester and Liverpool and went to school and college in Wigan and Warrington. I have always been fascinated by people and even then I knew I wanted todo something that would help people. My working life has included teaching maths in Warrington, Leigh and Liverpool, working in an IT role and as an IT customer support officer. About 20 years ago I went by chance to a talk on hypnotherapy and I was hooked.
Jo's skill and subtlety as a therapist helped me to grow and develop the resources I need to support myself. I always felt like we were getting somewhere because Jo's relaxed and approachabledemeanour is informed by an appropriate balance between kindness and professionalism. She has my deepest gratitude and I would happily recommend her to others.
